  • Victor Osimhen shines in Napoli's win over Monza in the Italian Serie A on Sunday Afternoon
  • The Nigerian international was one of the goalscorers in the Parthenopeans comeback win
  • The Super Eagles star has scored 12 goals and assisted three more in the league this season

Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, scored a towering header as Napoli came from a goal down to defeat Monza 4-2 in the Italia Serie A on Sunday afternoon.

The Parthenopeans are back to winning ways after losing their last game against Ademola Lookman's Atalanta 3-0 in the league.

Monza took the lead through Milan Djuric's header in the first half, with Napoli ending the first 45 minutes with a goal down.

Nigerian international Osimhen scored the equaliser in the 55th minute. He met Frank Zambo-Anguissa's cross with a superb header and sent the ball into the back of the net.

According to a report by Soccernet, the former Lille striker's goal against Monza was his 12th of the season in the Italian league.

Napoli took the lead two minutes after Osimhen's goal, with Matteo Politano scoring a goal-of-the-season contender.

Polish international Piotr Zielinski scored Napoli's third after being teed up by Kvhicha Kvaratskhelia.

Monza pulled one back through Andrea Calponi, but second-half substitute, Giacomo Raspadori sealed the three points for Francesco Calzona’s side as he scored the last goal of the game in the 68th minute.

Napoli's next game in the Serie A will be against Frosinone at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, on Sunday, April 14.

Osimhen’s struggles frustrate Napoli fans

Sports Brief earlier reported that Osimhen struggled against Atalanta, failing to threaten the opposition's goal and also picking up a yellow card for his efforts.

While Napoli supporters booed their team’s performance, some fans on social media focused instead on the Nigerian and his lacklustre finish in the match.

Some supporters complained that Osimhen was bringing Napoli down, while others said that his value was decreasing due to the club's dismal performances.
