The controversial moment which cost Yanga
Yanga and many fans alike were upset over a moment in the second half of the game.
In the 58th minute, the Tanzanian side thought they had opened the scoring through a screamer from Stephane Aziz Ki.
Ki’s shot hit the underside of the crossbar and appeared to go in the goal before bouncing out.
With no goal-line technology in place, VAR had to try to determine whether the whole circumference of the ball crossed the line and decided it was not a goal.
Yanga upset with VAR decision
Social media erupted with football fans sharing their thoughts over the incident, with many believing Yanga were robbed.
The club themselves feel hard done by the decision and have officially lodged a complaint over it.
As noted by Soccer Laduma, Young Africans allege that the officials didn’t follow due process and wanted a match outcome in favour of Sundowns.
