  • Cristiano Ronaldo has announced the launching of a new brand
  • Former teammate, David de Gea, poked fun at CR7's post online
  • The joke dates back to 2021 when Ronaldo returned to England

David de Gea is fun at parties and doesn't forget easily after he brought back a joke from 2021 under former teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo's announcement on Twitter.

The pair played together at Manchester United during Ronaldo's second spell, which unfortunately ended on acrimonious terms and saw CR7's contract terminated.

The goalkeeper departed six months later at the expiration of his contract after head coach, Erik ten Hag, foiled the initial agreement on reduced terms.

The Portuguese forward joined Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, but the Spaniard has remained clubless.

Ronaldo has influenced an influx of top European stars to the Saudi Pro League, including Neymar Jr, though the massive financial incentive convinced many to move.

De trolls Ronaldo's announcement

The 39-year-old announced on his social media platforms that he has launched a wellness app to help people have a balanced and healthy lifestyle. Erakulis will focus on fitness, nutrition, and mental wellness.

The former Juventus star is one of the fittest footballers and pays close attention to his performance and looks. He has shown exemplary resilience over the years, and it is no surprise that he is championing that initiative.

De Gea replied to Ronaldo's post with two laughing emojis and a gif image of himself and another ex-teammate, Paul Pogba, during a previous post-match conference, where he famously asked the reporter, 'Who?'

Per Mirror UK, the joke dates back to August 29, 2021, after United beat Wolves 1-0 away at the Molineux Stadium, thanks to Mason Greenwood's 80th-minute strike.

Pogba and De Gea were asked about the former Real Madrid star's impending arrival, and he jokingly pretended that he did not know who the five-time Ballon d'Or was.

Players with the most hat-tricks

Sports Brief also analysed players with the most triples after Ronaldo bagged his 65th career hat-trick in Al-Nassr's 8-0 win over Pitso Mosimane's Abha Club.

The five-time UEFA Champions League winner scored two free kicks in the Saudi Pro League game as part of a treble, in an extraordinary night full of milestones.
