The hotel bed where Cristiano Ronaldo slept during Portugal’s trip to Slovenia will be auctioned, starting the bidding at €5,000.

The 39-year-old was among the Portuguese team that lodged at the Grand Plaza Hotel during their trip to Ljubljana.

Although the five-time Ballon d'Or winner likely enjoyed a comfortable night's rest in luxurious accommodations, his spirits were dampened by a surprising 2-0 loss at Stozice.

Despite throngs of local supporters flocking to Brno airport and the hotel where Portugal lodged, catching a glimpse of Ronaldo off the field proved challenging, as the legendary player remained out of the public eye.

Though autograph seekers were left disappointed, they now have the opportunity to acquire a unique CR7-themed keepsake.

The Grand Plaza Hotel, in partnership with media company POP TV, has announced plans to auction Ronaldo's bed, with all proceeds directed towards charity.

A statement via GOAL reads:

“Since this was a rather special and unique event, we decided to prepare a unique surprise in which all fans can participate. We do not know when we will have the opportunity to host Ronaldo in Slovenia again. At a special auction, we will offer the bed in which the star Cristiano Ronaldo slept at our place. We wish everyone good luck and successful participation in the event.”

The initial bidding for the bed will commence at €5,000, but anticipation mounts for a swift escalation as Ronaldo's devoted fan base vie for the chance to possess furniture touched by one of football's greatest icons.

Ronaldo intensifies goal-scoring prowess in Saudi

Meanwhile, in a recent match on April 3rd, the Portuguese phenom once again showcased his goal-scoring prowess, leading Al-Nassr to a resounding 8-0 victory over Abha in the Saudi Pro League, as noted by Al Jazeera.

Ronaldo's first-half hat-trick in that match brought his total number of hat-tricks to an impressive 65.

Additionally, he scored two goals from free-kicks, bringing his total free-kick goals to 63, just one shy of his long-time rival Lionel Messi.

With his remarkable form, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner is currently on track to win the top scorer prize in the Saudi top division, standing at 29 goals.

Ronaldo secures Saudi POTM Award

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Cristiano Ronaldo's exceptional performances in March, securing him the Saudi Pro League Player of the Month award.

This accolade signifies his fourth of the season and fifth since joining Al Nassr. Throughout the month, the 39-year-old scored five goals across three matches, notably a hat-trick against Al-Tai.
