Song's contract was not extended after the Indomitable Lions exited the Africa Cup of Nations in the Round of 16, having managed only one win.
It is believed Brys will immediately take over as coach and will lead the team in his first games during the return of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in June.
According to Reuters, the 61-year-old will be assisted by Joachim Mununga and Giannis Xilouris, with new medical and administrative teams set to be formed.

Brys has spent most of his career coaching teams in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Saudi Arabia. His last job was in his homeland with Oud Hervelee Leuven, where he was manager from 2020 to 2023.
Cameroon will be hoping he can help them recover from their AFCON 2023 disappointment when they resume their World Cup qualifiers in June with games against Cape Verde and Angola, per Sofascore.
The Indomitable Lions last won the Africa Cup of Nations title in 2017 when they defeated Egypt in the final but have seen something of a decline in recent competitions.
