  • Cavin Johnson has reflected on Kaizer Chiefs' loss against Stellenbosch FC in the Premier Soccer League
  • The South African tactician also opened up about things his players need to improve on after the game
  • The Glamour Boys are currently on a poor run of form after winning one out of their last eight matches

Kaizer Chiefs manager Cavin Johnson has shared his thoughts on what the players need to improve on after their 1-0 loss against Stellenbosch FC in the DStv Premiership.

A first-half stoppage-time goal from Devin Titus gave the Stellies a deserved win over Amakhosi at the FNB Stadium.

Stellenbosch are now on a 19-game unbeaten run, while Chiefs have only won one out of eight games in all competitions.

In an interview with SuperSport TV after the game, Johnson listed out some of the things the players need to work on, according to a report by iDiskiTimes.

"The players need to play proper technical, they need to be better technically," he said.
"In a lot of moments where we have to play, they have to pass the ball better. We’re not looking like we can pass the ball better.
"We go 1-0 down, we’ve got 45 minutes to come back – be the confidence you are, be the Kaizer Chiefs you are!
"Play proper ball, don’t just kick the ball and that for me is very disturbing from my players."

Kaizer Chiefs withdraw interest in Nwabali

Sports Brief earlier reported that Chippa United have slammed a heft price tag on Stanley Nwabali, forcing rivals Kaizer Chiefs to back out from their ambition of signing the Super Eagles goalkeeper in the summer.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper attracted the interest of several clubs around the globe, including teams in Saudi Arabia, after starring for Nigeria’s Super Eagles at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Kaizer Chiefs, who were one of the leading clubs interested in Nwabali, have backed out of any deal to sign the Nigerian after Chippa United slammed a whopping R30 million as his price tag.
