The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are reportedly keen on hiring a foreign manager for the Super Eagles.
This comes amid speculation of Finidi George being the favourite to lead the Super Eagles following the departure of former coach, Jose Peseiro.
Finidi, who was in charge on an interim basis during the March international window, oversaw the Super Eagles' friendlies against Ghana and Mali.
The seemingly impressive display by the injury-plagued Nigeria team over the course of both games had many fans and stakeholders suggesting the 52-year-old be rewarded with taking over the coaching role largely because of continuity.

However, certain events that occurred during Finidi's interim tenure appear to have hindered his chances of being appointed as the head coach.
NFF to snub Finidi?
According to a recent report from OwnGoalNigeria, the NFF technical committee are considering overlooking Finidi, largely due to a rumoured dressing room scuffle that unfolded with the manager and a few players during the recent international window.
The Enyimba FC coach was reportedly involved in a dressing room altercation with forward, Sadiq Umar, and Atalanta star, Ademola Lookman.
Sadiq was reported to have ignored the manager's handshake gesture after being an unused substitute in Nigeria's game against Ghana.
Lookman was also reported to be displeased with the manager, with issues arising from him not being a favourite of the interim Nigeria coach.
The report also alluded to the fact that the NFF are hoping to avoid such scuffles, as were witnessed in the tenure of former coach, Sunday Oliseh.
Former Real Sociedad Star calls on NFF to choose Nigerian coach over foreigner for Super Eagles
FootballDuring his reign as Nigeria's coach, the Super Eagles were allegedly plagued with a flurry of issues, with the players and the manager at loggerheads.
The NFF would hope to avoid this situation and this was listed as a reason why their focus has shifted to a foreign coach.
NFF to ignore Renard
Sports Brief earlier reported that the NFF are not considering appointing Herve Renard as coach of the Super Eagles.
This decision was said to largely be due to his national commitments ahead of the Summer Olympic Games in Paris.
