To put the forward's achievements into perspective, he remains the leading goal-scorer in the history of football.

Ronaldo also holds the record for the most appearances, goals, and assists in the UEFA Champions League.

Despite entering the sunset years of his career, the 39-year-old appears to be going from strength to strength.

Ronaldo set to achieve unique record

According to SPORTbible, the former Real Madrid ace is in line to become the first player ever to achieve a historic record at the end of the season.

Per the publication, the five-time Ballon d'Or could become the first footballer in history to win a Golden Boot in four different divisions, excluding state championships.

Ronaldo currently has 26 league goals to his name and is topping the goal-scorers charts in the Saudi Pro League. The forward extended his lead at the top after he scored a hat-trick on Saturday against Al Taee.

His closest challenger for the Golden Boot is Al Hilal superstar, Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has netted 22 times. However, the Serbian suffered a serious muscle injury which could impact his chances.

Ronaldo pulled further ahead with his hat-trick against Pitso Mosimane's Abha Club on April 2, as history beckons once again for CR7.

Ronaldo wins prestigious award

Sports Brief also reported on Ronaldo winning a prestigious league award amid his impressive form.

The Portugal international carted home the prize only days after he scored a hat-trick against Al-Tai.

The Real Madrid icon scored yet another treble in the second half of the Saudi Pro League encounter.
