A supercomputer has predicted the final Premier League standings after the latest round of matches.

There are only nine games left to end the 2023/24 season after this weekend's fixtures.

Currently, the attention is pretty much on the title race, which has Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City all embroiled in a tough battle.

Of the three title favourites, the Reds were the biggest gainers this weekend, with their 2-1 hard-fought win over Brighton catapulting them to the summit of the table.

Arsenal are down in second following their drab draw against City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, while Pep Guardiola's charges remain in third.

Aston Villa complete the top four podium with 59 points, three points ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

Supercomputer's Premier League prediction

A supercomputer has now crunched the numbers and predicted how the final table could look.

According to Bettingexpert's supercomputer BETSiE, Liverpool are the favourites to win the league with a 48.1% chance.

The Reds are projected to finish with 86.9 points, while Arsenal are predicted to finish second with 85.8 points.

City are expected to finish third with 84.0 points, with Villa set to play in the Champions League with a fourth-place finish.

Elsewhere, Manchester United are predicted to finish sixth with 58.2 points, while Chelsea look set to finish eighth with 55.9 points.

On the other end of the table, Nottingham Forest are projected to survive relegation despite being docked points.

Why Man City won't win the EPL title

Earlier, Sports Brief also analysed six reasons why Man City may not retain the Premier League title this season.

The Citizens have won the prestigious crown three seasons in a row under Guardiola and are looking to make history with the fourth on the bounce.

However, they are facing stiff competition from Arsenal and Liverpool in their hope to make history.
