Manchester City forward Erling Haaland and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah are locked in a tight battle, with only two goals separating them at the top of the scoring charts.

The Norwegian striker failed to extend his lead in the Premier League Golden Boot race on Sunday, producing a stinker in Manchester City's goalless draw against Arsenal.
Roy Keane blasted his performance after the game, saying that he is like a League Two player after his toothless display against the Gunners, per Goal.com.
Haaland remained on course to defend his Premier League scoring title, however, with the Manchester City forward holding a two-goal lead at the top of the table.
2. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool, 16 goals)
Salah stepped up big time for the Reds on Sunday, scoring the match-winner in Liverpool's 2-1 victory over Brighton.
The Egyptian forward ensured the home side took all three points, netting the go-ahead strike in the 65th minute after a fine pass from Alexis Mac Allister. It was his first goal in the Premier League since returning from injury.
He climbed to second place in the Golden Boot race with that strike, moving to within two goals of Haaland's lead.
2. Dominic Solanke (Bournemouth, 16 goals)
Solanke moved up to second place as well after scoring in Bournemouth's 2-1 win against Everton over the weekend.

2. Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa, 16 goals)
Watkins failed to score in Aston Villa's 2-0 win on Saturday, leaving him still two goals behind Haaland in the Golden Boot race.
He was taken off at half-time after suffering a hamstring injury, per The Independent. The 28-year-old is now a major doubt for Villa's trip to Manchester City this midweek.
5. Jarrod Bowen (West Ham United, 15 goals)
Bowen moved to within three goals of Erling Haaland for the Premier League Golden Boot lead after scoring in West Ham United's game against Newcastle United on Saturday.
He gave the Hammers a 3-1 lead with a goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately for West Ham, they weren't able to hold on to that advantage. The Magpies scored three unanswered goals late in the second half to record a 4-3 win.
