  • The Newcastle vs West Ham game had controversy towards the end of the first half
  • West Ham turned the game around from 1-0 to 2-1 through Mohammed Kudus
  • The Ghana international’s celebrations were hilariously foiled by a ballboy

There was a funny incident during the Newcastle United vs West Ham clash on Saturday, March 30 as Mohammed Kudus saw his trademark goal celebration nearly ruined by a ball boy.

Kudus controversially gave the visitors the lead in first-half stoppage time, smashing home his side’s second goal of the game after a quick free kick allowed Jarrod Bowen to pick a pass.

In an attempt to perform his signature goal celebration the Ghana international went over to a ball boy seated by the advertisement board.

He attempted to ask for the ball boy’s seat, but he was denied by the young lad and ultimately had to improvise. You can check out the hilarious incident below:

Newcastle fans were left irritated by the fact that play was allowed to go on despite one of their players staying down with an apparent head injury.

Newcastle win thriller

The home side had initially taken the lead through Alexander Isak’s penalty, his sixth goal in his last eight Premier League appearances.

Michail Antonio levelled matters in the 21st minute with a neat finish after a ball over the top from Lucas Paqueta allowed the robust forward to spin past his marker to slot past Martin Dúbravka.

Kudus made it 2-1 in controversial circumstances, and two minutes into the second half, David Moyes’ side went two goals up with the in-form Ghanaian getting involved again.

The second half packed more action as the visitors went 3-1 up as Kudus turned provider, finding Bowen who beat the Newcastle goalkeeper in a 1v1 situation.

Despite going two goals down, the Magpies got back in the game through another Isak penalty after referee Rob Jones punished Kalvin Phillips’ tackle.

West Ham were caught cold at the back once again as Harvey Barnes produced a moment of quality, finishing off a through ball from Isak in the 83rd minute.

The game was turned on its head once again as Barnes produced another lovely strike in the 90th minute to send St James’ Park into delirium.

Despite Anthony Gordon getting sent off, Eddie Howe’s side held on for a famous victory in one of the best games of the season so far.

Kudus on players copying his celebration

Elsewhere, Sports Brief reported on how Mohammed Kudus reacted to other players copying his goal celebration.

Kudus insists he has no qualms with others drawing inspiration from him, but joked that soon they might have to "start paying taxes".
