According to Allez Les Lions, the former Chelsea and Real Madrid coach has been identified as potentially the next coach of the five-time Africa champions.
However, the decision to make Mourinho the next coach will be hugely dependent on the monetary demands of the experienced coach. His relationship with FECAFOOT president Samuel Eto'o is also expected to play a role in convincing the Portuguese.
Mourinho, who was relieved of his role as AS Roma coach in February, has disclosed his desire to return to management as early as possible, as reported by beIN Sports.
He has been on the radar of clubs in Saudi Arabia despite earlier rejecting a move to the Middle Eastern nation as coach of the national team.
The ex-Real Madrid coach has won several trophies in his career including the UEFA Champions League and the English Premier League.
