French Ligue 1 club, Nantes, has confirmed that Moses Simon has been ruled out for the rest of the season after the Super Eagles winger suffered a fractured leg in Nigeria’s friendly defeat to Mali.
The 28-year-old forward was stretchered off in the 31st minute during Nigeria’s 2-0 friendly defeat to Mali after colliding with the Malian goalkeeper in a goalscoring attempt.
According to the Daily Post, Nantes confirmed the seriousness of Simon’s injury after they disclosed the Super Eagles winger had suffered a broken fibular after tests were carried out.
“Moses Simon was injured yesterday against Mali. Our Nigerian striker suffers from a broken fibula which means the end of the season,” the club said in a statement.

Simon, who has scored three goals this season for the relegation-threatened Nantes, will miss the rest of the 2023/24 season due to the injury.
