Senegal captain, Kalidou Koulibaly, has disclosed the desire of players of the national team to meet the president-elect Bassirou Diomaye Faye.
The 44-year-old emerged victorious from the presidential election in Senegal, defeating the ruling party's Amadou Ba to become the next head of the state of the West African nation.
While he was declared president-elect of Senegal, the Teranga Lions were in action against Gabon and Benin in the international break.
The former African champions won both games, with Mane netting the winner against Benin on Tuesday night in Amiens, Frances.

After the game, Koulibaly congratulated the now youngest president in Africa and insisted the team is hoping to meet him soon.
"We can't wait to meet him," he told Wiw Sport after the game.
Senegal seems to have recovered from the Africa Cup of Nations heartbreak after securing back-to-back victories in March.
“It’s a positive result, we wanted to win these two matches. We leave with two victories. We saw a lot of new players, young players who have great potential and that can help Senegal. We leave with good things. Even if there are things to rectify, we will rectify them,” Koulibaly added.
The 2021 African champions will return to action in June for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against DR Congo and Mauritania, per US Soccerway.

The 19-year-old defender was handed his debut by Aliou Cisse after an impressive campaign with Barcelona's B team.
Faye started as Senegal put behind them a disappointing Africa Cup of Nations by rebuilding a new team with their youngsters in Europe.
