Lionel Messi has confirmed his future plans after achieving everything there is to accomplish in football, after Argentina's triumph at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Messi ended his European adventure months after winning the Mundial, leaving Paris Saint-Germain after his two-year contract expired to join Inter Miami in the United States.

Per Talksport, he became the most decorated footballer with 44 trophies after helping the Herons win their first-ever trophy, the Leagues Cup. He was named the top scorer and best player.

The veteran also surpassed former Barcelona teammate, Dani Alves, to set the record. The disgraced Brazilian right-back won 43 trophies in his storied career.

Messi speaks on future plan

Messi extensive holiday and partying after the World Cup made some of his fans claim he was done with football and has retired in spirit even though he is still playing.

The World Cup winner has indirectly echoed their thoughts by claiming he has no future dreams left in the sport, having achieved everything.

"I don't have a specific dream on a sporting level anymore. I was lucky to achieve everything," he said on the Big Time Podcast. "I have achieved everything during my career."

In an interview with Sport, after leaving Barcelona in 2021, he admitted he would love to return to the club as a sporting director when he retires, hinting that coaching is not a dream for him.

Messi names his favourite TV show

Sports Brief previously reported on Messi naming Game of Thrones as his favourite TV show of all time and admitting he has watched the eight-season series more than once.

He met one of the leading actors, Kit Harington, who starred as Jon Snow, in Paris before the UEFA Champions League group stage match between PSG and Benfica in 2022.
