The 24-year-old winger debuted for the South African national team during the recent international break, marking his presence with notable performances in matches against Andorra and Algeria.
Khumalo couldn't help but shower praise on Mokwana, describing him as a 'diamond', unearthed by his national coach, Broos.
In both games, Mokwana showcased his fearlessness in taking on defenders, displaying a positive attitude and a willingness to drive forward. His contributions were evident, including scoring a crucial equaliser against Andorra and playing a part in the thrilling 3-3 draw with Algeria.

"Hugo should be proud of himself because he found a diamond now in Mokwana. There is nothing I like more than a wing player who can challenge defenders directly," he said on SABC3, as reported by iDiski Times.
While praising Broos for discovering the youngster, Khumalo also expressed curiosity about other emerging talents, hinting at the depth of talent within South African football.
Mokwana's journey to the national team spotlight began when he joined Sekhukhune United from Platinum City in July 2022. Since then, he has significantly contributed to his club, scoring goals and providing assists.
