Ronwen Williams has backed Hugo Broos' decision to start a much-changed South African team in their friendly against Andorra.
Bafana Bafana were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw against the 164th-ranked team on Friday, March 22.
South Africa were coming off a superb 2023 Africa Cup of Nations campaign, where they finished third. Williams was one of the standout players for the 1996 AFCON champions in Ivory Coast.
Most players who started in their third-place playoff against the Democratic Republic of Congo did not play against the European side.

FootballWilliams said his teammates were not happy with the result, considering they created enough chances to win.
"We were disappointed as a team; we felt they were there for the taking, we created so many chances, but in saying that, it was a completely different team to the one we’ve had for the past two years," he said via iDiski Times.
However, the Bafana Bafana captain added that Broos knew what he was doing by playing a totally different team and giving other team members an opportunity.
"We felt we were strong enough to win - we created so many chances, but it’s one of those games where the coach had his reasons for his approach of allowing many players to play so we don’t need to look too much into that game."
South Africa face Algeria on Tuesday, March 26, looking to end the March international break with a win.
