FootballErling Haaland: Man City Striker Names Rule He Would Change if He Had the Power in Football
- Erling Haaland is one of the best footballers in the world
- The striker took English football by storm in his first year
- The City star still struggles to understand a football rule
Erling Haaland can do everything with the ball in front of the goal but needs help understanding some other rules of the game and wants to change them.
The Norwegian took English football by storm in his first season, helping Manchester City win their first UEFA Champions League as part of a historic treble.
Despite his fitness issues and lack of form this year, Haaland still sits at the top of the scorers’ chart with 18 league goals after game week 28, two clear of Ollie Watkins in second place.
The Norwegian will need to regain his form in the remaining games of the season, as he will be crucial for City in their title race against rivals Liverpool and Arsenal, both of whom are ahead.

Haaland doesn't understand football rule
Per Goal, the striker has come under criticism for being a 'passenger' in games if he doesn't score, especially against Liverpool, with fans claiming he relies on services from playmaker teammates.
The former Borussia Dortmund superstar, speaking on City's official podcast via Sun Sport, has pinpointed another path of football he struggles with and would change if he had the power to.
Haaland wants goal-line technology to be used across the pitch and not only within goal frames, so players know when the ball is out of play. He then claimed he doesn't understand throw-ins.
"What annoys me is throw-ins. If you throw this way or that way, it doesn't matter. Just make sure you have two hands on the ball," he said.
"I don't even know the rules, and if I'm going to make a throw, I'll probably do it wrong, but it doesn't matter if you throw the ball straight down, straight up or whatever. I would change that."
