Super Eagles interim coach, Finidi George has disclosed why Nigerian players are motivated ahead of the friendly game against Ghana in Morocco.

In an interview after the team's last training on Thursday, as per Complete Sports, Finidi explained why the players are geared up ahead of the game.

"The team is prepared; they know what is at stake in that rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana is always there, and that is an extra motivation for the players," he said.
"We are good to go; players are ready. They know what is at stake. We just want to have a good game, and hopefully, we will win."

The Nigerian coach also spoke on the tactical approach he would likely use in the game.

"We are not changing much (tactics), just add a little bit of few elements that we think would help the players. We will be very tactical and see how we can win the ball as quick as possible," he added.

Ex-Nigerian international on judging Finidi

Sports Brief earlier reported on former Super Eagles star, Dimeji Lawal, sharing his views about judging Finidi based on the results in the upcoming friendlies.

The former Real Betis star served as an assistant to Jose Peseiro at the 2023 African Cup of Nations, in which the Super Eagles finished in second place behind the host nation.

In an interview with Complete Sports, Lawal is of a different opinion as he feels both games are not enough to see what Finidi will bring to the Nigerian national team.
