NFF technical committee divided
According to the report, a flurry of the members of the committee are keen on naming Emmanuel Amunike as the successor to Jose Peseiro. However, select high-ranking executives on the committee fancy a foreign manager to lead the Super Eagles.
Those advocating for Amunike cite several reasons, including his Nigerian heritage and understanding of Nigerian football, as well as the cost-effectiveness of his appointment by the football federation.
On the other hand, those pushing for a foreign coach argue that no Nigerian coach is currently capable of effectively managing the high-calibre players on the Super Eagles team.
However, their efforts to appoint a foreign manager are hindered by the federation's reluctance to exceed the $50,000 salary cap previously paid to Peseiro.
It is worth noting that securing the services of any top-tier manager would require a salary exceeding this limit. As a result, both factions remain undecided on the appointment of the next Super Eagles coach.
