  • Erling Haaland left Manchester City fans worried whilst on international duty
  • The striker was filmed limping in Norway’s first training session recently
  • Norway’s team doctor has however played down any injury concerns

The last thing Manchester City needs is their leading marksman missing the business end of the season through injury.

City trail league leaders Arsenal by a single point in the Premier League, and they are also level on points with another fierce rival, Liverpool.

It is safe to conclude that Pep Guardiola will find it extremely difficult to replicate his treble success from next season, and the current international break could not have come at a worse time for the Spaniard.

Haaland injury scare

During a recent press conference, the Manchester City boss admitted he was powerless to control what his players do while they are representing their countries.

This statement rang true on Tuesday, March 19 after a clip of Erling Haaland limping surfaced on social media.

According to TV2, quoted on Standard, Norway’s team doctor Ola Sand played down the injury concerns insisting there was “no problem” with the 23-year-old striker.

Norway’s upcoming fixtures

Norway have two upcoming friendly matches before the international break comes to a close.

Stale Solbakken come up against Czechia on Friday, and this will be followed by another friendly against Slovakia on Tuesday.

This means Solbakken will most likely appear before media on Thursday, March 21 to address the Haaland injury situation.

Will Haaland be fit enough for Arsenal?

At the moment, there is no telling whether Haaland will be fit enough to face the Gunners.

The only glimmer of hope is the fact that the match is 11 days away, which is ample time for the striker to shrug off a minor injury, if it is there.

Haaland has already missed two months of Premier League action this season with a foot injury, according to talkSPORT.

Meanwhile, City are also sweating over the fitness of Kevin de Bruyne and Ederson, with the former being omitted from the Belgium squad.

Top 8 left-footed footballers

Sports Brief also highlighted some of the best footballers in world football who are left footed.

Haaland makes the list after his 52-goal haul in the 2022/23 campaign.

The number one spot belongs to Lionel Messi, who is widely regarded as the greatest player in the history of the sport.
