There have only been five weeks in the new season, but the former Liverpool star has already proven to be an excellent signing for David Beckham’s side and has already outshone Lionel Messi.

As noted by The Mirror, Suarez has already been named Player of the Matchday twice in the 2024 campaign. Messi is yet to win the award.

Suarez’s brace gives Inter Miami victory

The talismanic striker won the award thanks to his impressive performance in the last matchday.

Suarez scored a brace as Inter Miami beat DC United 3-1 to go top of the Eastern Conference. The club have already amassed 13 points from the first five games of the season and have scored 13 goals.

Suarez’s incredible for at 37

While many expected the former Barcelona star to drop off in form as he got older, he is instead proving that he hasn’t lost his touch.

After just five games, Suarez is the joint top scorer and top assist-maker.

Suarez combines beautifully with Messi and Alba

Sports Brief previously reported how Suarez was linking up well with his former Barcelona teammates at Inter Miami.

The Uruguayan recently combined well with Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba to score a beautiful goal in the process.

The goal came against Nashville, with Miami winning 5-3 on aggregate to move on in the CONCACAF Champions Cup.

How Inter Miami struggle without Messi

Sports Brief also reported how Lionel Messi’s impact at Inter Miami was truly felt when he wasn’t in the lineup.

The Argentinian star has been out of action more recently with injuries, and the team weren’t the same without him.

They have won just once in nine matches without him in the squad and lost their last game that he was absent for, 3-2.
