FootballSoccer Aid 2024: Pochettino to Face Lampard in Eden Hazard’s Stamford Bridge Return
- The 2024 Soccer Aid match will be filled with personalities with connections to Chelsea
- Mauricio Pochettino will take charge of the World XI against Frank Lampard's England XI
- Eden Hazard will also play at Stamford Bridge for the second time since he left the Blues
Mauricio Pochettino will, for the second year in a row, take charge of the World XI at the Soccer Aid match scheduled for June this year.
The organisers have confirmed the match will take place at Stamford Bridge on June 9 as part of the continued efforts by UNICEF to raise money for charity.
The groundbreaking news of this year's fixture will be the return of Eden Hazard, one of Chelsea's best-ever players.
The Belgian retired last year after an injury-ridden four-year spell at Real Madrid. He joined Los Blancos in 2019 after seven years in London, where he left as arguably the best player in the division.

Soccer Aid 2024: Pochettino vs Lampard
Hazard will be joined by fellow Blues icon, Frank Lampard, who will be among the managers of England XI.
Lampard is still revered by Chelsea fans despite a managerial spell that ended dismally. Harry Redknapp and Robbie Williams will join him as the managers of the English side.
Pochettino, who was in charge of the World XI last year before taking over the reins at Chelsea, will be joined by his long-time assistant, Jesus Perez, in the dugout.
The players will be confirmed in subsequent days, but apart from Hazard, the Standard reports that Pochettino will have the likes of Usain Bolt and Robert Carlos in his ranks. The English team will have Jill Scott and Jack Wilshere, among others.
FA Cup semi-final draw
Pochettino's new job posting comes at a time when his Blues future remains marred by uncertainty. The club is rooted in 11th in the Premier League but has done exceptionally well in cup competitions.
Sports Brief also reported that Chelsea meet Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals after beating Leicester City 4-2 on March 17. The other semi-final will see Coventry City play Manchester United.
