Antony has explained his decisive right-footed goal against Liverpool on Sunday, a strike that propelled Manchester United into the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

The Brazilian winger, often criticised for his heavy reliance on his left foot, surprised many with his low effort from his weaker foot that found the back of the net.

This crucial goal, scored in the game's closing moments, levelled the score for the Red Devils and ignited an unexpected victory against Jurgen Klopp's formidable side.

It marked only Antony's second goal in 30 appearances across all competitions, according to Transfermarkt, and coincidentally, his second in the same FA Cup campaign following his earlier goal against Newport City.

United emerged victorious from the epic clash with a 4-3 win at Old Trafford, setting up a semi-final showdown against Championship side, Coventry City, at Wembley Stadium on the weekend of April 20 and 21.

Reflecting on his performance against Liverpool, the former Ajax Amsterdam winger revealed he had been quietly working on improving himself amid the criticism during what has been a challenging season.

"I try to learn from each criticism and so improve. I have been working silently to evolve and show my football on the field," he said as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
He continued: "I know my potential, and I know why Man Utd hired me. I want to repay all of this on the field. It was my lifelong dream to be here."

Antony's teammate draws inspiration from Messi

While Antony's crucial equaliser in regulation time grabbed attention, it's Amad Diallo who continues to dominate discussions after his heroic performance for Man United, Sports Brief reported.

The Ivorian winger's decisive goal, a strike in the 120th minute of extra time, propelled the Red Devils into the last four of the FA Cup as they managed to beat Liverpool against all expectations.

In a social media post, Diallo shared a photo of himself holding up his shirt after scoring the winning goal against Liverpool, juxtaposed with a similar of Lionel Messi performing the same pose.
