AFC Ajax striker, Chuba Akpom, will spend the upcoming international break in London, UK, opting to take time with his family after being snubbed by the Super Eagles once again.
Having recently pledged his allegiance to Nigeria after representing England at various youth levels, Akpom has been eager to don the green and white of the African nation.
However, despite his availability, the 26-year-old has never received a call-up since 2019.
He will miss the team's upcoming friendlies against Ghana and Mali.

Despite a challenging season in the Netherlands, where he has struggled to replicate his form from his time at Middlesbrough, the forward has managed to notch seven goals and provide one assist in 18 Eredivisie appearances.
While his teammates prepare to join their national teams, Akpom has chosen to return to London to regroup and focus on overcoming Ajax's recent struggles. He Akpom expressed the importance of mental calmness and clarity in overcoming challenges.
“I'm going back to London and spending time with my family because it's been difficult for us all. We need to calm down mentally and clear our heads so that we can end the season on a positive note,” he said, as quoted by Ajax Life.
Despite his exclusion from the national team setup, Akpom showcased his talent over the weekend, contributing a goal and an assist off the bench in Ajax's 2-2 draw with Sparta Rotterdam, as reported by Vavel.
