Makinwa names himself ideal coach for Nigeria
In an interview with Punch Sports Extra, the 46-year-old shared his views on the Super Eagles coaching role and why he believes he is the ideal candidate for the job.
"I am the best candidate because I currently hold a UEFA Pro badge from the Spanish FA, I have played professionally in Europe, Africa, and Asia, and I have represented my country at the international level.
"As the NFF stated, they are looking for a coach who understands African football. I have coached in the NPFL for five seasons and have spent more time living in Nigeria than any of the other applicants in recent years."
Having submitted his application just three days before the deadline, the former Rayo Vallecano forward faces stiff competition from a pool of esteemed coaches.
