FootballJadon Sancho Announces Return to Champions League with Brilliant Goal for Dortmund
- Jadon Sancho was on target once again for Borussia Dortmund
- The English winger opened the scoring against PSV on Wednesday
- This was his second goal in as many games for Dortmund
Jadon Sancho was amongst the goals once again as he scored a superb goal for Borussia Dortmund against PSV in the Champions League on Wednesday, March 13.
Dortmund hosted the Dutch giants in the second leg of the Champions League last 16, with the tie deadlocked at 1-1.
With no away goals rule in the 2023/24 season, the tie was finely poised with the German giants having the slight advantage of being at home.
It only took Dortmund two minutes to get the opening goal, which came from a classy effort from Sancho.

The on-loan winger was teed up perfectly by Julian Brandt’s layoff at the edge of the box, and he struck a low shot which was simply too good for PSV goalie Walter Benitez.
Sancho back to his best
This was the second goal for Sancho in as many games for Borussia Dortmund.
Four days earlier, he scored an equally impressive goal in the Bundesliga against Werder Bremen, receiving a ball on the wing before taking marauding forward to score a solo goal. Dortmund won that game 2-1.
How the rest of the game went
Dortmund went into the break leading 1-0, but the visitors were a much-improved side after the break.
Hirving Lozano came close as his 25-yard effort rattled the post, while Johan Bakayoko forced a brilliant save from Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, as reported on Sky Sports.
Striker Niclas Fuellkrug volleyed in from a Marco Reus free kick, but his effort was ruled out for offside.

FootballDortmund eventually got their second goal which came late on as Reus slotted home after a quick break to seal victory. This goal came moments after PSV squandered a massive chance to restore parity as Luuk de Jong somehow blasted wide with the goal at his mercy.
The German giants now join Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Arsenal and Barcelona in waiting for the quarter-final draw scheduled for Friday, March 15.
When Sancho struggled against PSV
Ironically, Sancho struggled in the reverse fixture against PSV three weeks earlier.
As Sports Brief reported, Sancho made his return to the Champions League on Tuesday, February 20 as Dortmund travelled to the Netherlands for the last 16 clash against PSV Eindhoven, but his performances in the first leg tie were below par.
In that game, he failed to register a goal or assist in the game, as the two teams played out a 1-1 draw.
