South African midfielder, Teboho Mokoena, scored one of the goals of the season in the Tshwane Derby as Mamelodi Sundowns drew against SuperSport United.

On Tuesday evening, Matsatsantsa fought from a goal behind to secure a deserved point in their 1-1 draw against the league leaders at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

Masandawana started the game as the better side and came close to scoring in the 11th minute via Matias Esquivel's free kick, but his effort sailed over the net.

The home side's pressure finally paid off as Bafana Bafana star, Mokoena, gave them the deserved lead.

In a video currently circulating on social media, the South African midfielder hit a long-range effort that found the back of Washington Arubi's net.

Mamelodi Sundowns' lead was short-lived as SuperSport hit the equaliser, after Bradley Grobler met Lyle Lakay's free kick in the 34th minute, according to a report by iDiskiTimes.

The Brazilians dominated the second half of the game but were unable to create a clear-cut chance to seal all three points against Gavin Hunt's side.

Despite the draw, Sundowns extended their unbeaten run to 42 games and are ahead of Orlando Pirates and SuperSport in the PSL standings by 13 points.

Their next game is against Maritzburg United in the Nedbank Cup on Sunday (March 17) before switching focus to their CAF Champions League quarter-final clash against Tanzanian side, Young Africans.

Mokoena's agent denies Al Ahly trial claims

Sports Brief also previously reported that Mokoena's agent, Glyn Binkin, dismissed rumours suggesting his client has had his trials with Egyptian giants, Al Ahly, called off.

A letter that circulated on social media claimed the club would not proceed due to the player’s perceived support for Economic Freedom Fighters' leader, Julius Malema.
