And now Nsien, who is currently the handler of the US Men's U19 team, has explained why he is the man for the plum job.
The 43-year-old stated that he is the most qualified to lead Nigeria to the next level. He said, as per Punch:
"I am the best of both worlds. As a Nigerian-American, I have a passion for the Super Eagles. I also know the responsibilities that come with that position as head coach.
"I have experience working in an environment that spares no expense in technology, has top scouting infrastructure, and coaching collaboration from top to bottom," he added.
Although he lives in the United States, Nsien's roots can be traced to the Akwa Ibom State, with the coach claiming he understands 'where Nigerian football is'.

FootballSports Brief earlier reported that Sunday Oliseh indicated an interest in returning to coach as the Nigeria Football Federation begins search to find Jose Peseiro’s successor.
Oliseh, who had previously coached the Super Eagles as well as teams in Belgium and the Netherlands, has offered his services to Nigeria, but only if the conditions are right.
