The Red Devils were desperate to return to winning ways during the Saturday cracker to revive their hopes of finishing in the top four at the end of the season.

United suffered a 3-1 humiliating defeat against rivals Manchester City in their last outing and, therefore, needed a positive result when they hosted Everton at Old Trafford.

Garnacho makes Man United history

According to SPORTbible, while Everton proved to be a hard nut to crack, Garnacho was a constant threat upfront.

The Argentine's resilient pressing paid off in the 12th minute as he won his side a penalty after James Tarkowski fouled him.

Skipper Bruno Fernandes went on to step up to convert the spot kick, with Garnacho winning a second penalty late in the half, converted by Marcus Rashford.

Incredibly, there was a third shout for a penalty to be awarded after Garnacho's cross struck the arm of Vitaly Mykolenko, but the referee waved play on.

Garnacho's role in winning United two penalties saw him become the first player at the club to achieve the feat.

Following the win, the Red Devils now sit sixth in the Premier League table with 47 points.

Ziyech side-eyes Garnacho

Sports Brief also reported on an interesting incident that saw Hakim Ziyech give Garnacho the ‘eye’, moments before scoring against Manchester United.

Galatasaray and the Red Devils delivered a Champions League classic on Wednesday night, with the two sides battling each other to a thrilling 3-3 draw.

Garnacho got the party started with the opening goal in the 11th minute, with fans pointing out that his celebration marked a turning point in the game.
