Kane closes in on Robert Lewandowski’s record

The Englishman’s impressive season in the Bundesliga has now seen him close in on a long-standing record set by former Munich striker Robert Lewandowski.

The Polish striker scored 41 goals in the 2020/21 season, and Kane has nine games left to surpass that feat.

What does Munich’s win mean for the table?

The win saw Thomas Tuchel’s men close the gap to Bayer Leverkusen at the top of the table to just seven points. The Bavarian giants have played a game more.

They have also opened up a bit more breathing space to VfB Stuttgart behind them.
