Many questions have been asked regarding who will be in charge of the team at the dugout in both games.

According to a report by The Cable, Enyimba manager, Finidi George, who was assistant to Jose Peseiro, will lead the team in both friendly games.

The Nigerian football governing body, NFF, is still searching for a new manager for the Super Eagles and has declared the position vacant.

Finidi George is also one of the people tipped to replace the Portuguese manager, and his former teammates in the Nigerian national team, Austin Eguavoen and Emmanuel Amuneke, are on the list.

NFF also released a 26-man squad for both games, with Ahmed Musa and William Troost-Ekong failing to make the list.

Luton Town defender Gabriel Osho and former Bendel Insurance star Benjamin Tianimu got their debut call-up into the national team setup.

Leicester City midfielder Wilfried Ndidi and Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi have both been recalled to the team after they both missed the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast due to injuries.

Okpala speaks on replacing Peseiro

Sports Brief earlier reported that former Super Eagles of Nigeria midfielder, Sylvanus Okpala, has declared himself as a perfect replacement for Peseiro.

The 62-year-old stressed that he has achieved previous success with the Nigerian team and deserves to be rewarded with another stint as Super Eagles coach.
