- Garnacho has now revealed why he did not take at least one penalty
Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho showed commendable maturity levels, with his response on why he did not take a penalty against Everton on Saturday, March 9.
The young Argentine played a crucial role in United’s 2-0 win as he won his team two penalties, which were converted by Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.
In the 12th minute, he took matters into his own hands, driving forward with the ball and tempting Toffees skipper James Tarkowski into a careless tackle.
Late in the first half, he sucked in another Everton player into making a tackle in the box as Ben Godfrey was too slow to take the ball from Garnacho’s quick feet.

Rashford scored this resulting penalty, as Garnacho became the first Manchester United player to win two spot kicks for his team in the same game, according to SportBible.
Why didn’t Garnacho take a penalty
Garnacho was taken off late in the second half to a rousing applause from the Old Trafford crowdas and replaced by Antony.
Despite failing to score against the Toffees as he did with an overhead kick in the reverse fixture, Garnacho was in high spirits after the game.
Asked if he was gutted to not have been given a penalty by his teammates, the 19-year-old told TNT Sports.
“Bruno [Fernandes] is the captain and takes the penalties when he plays.. Rashford is the second. We are family. No problem."
Garnacho also revealed his manager Erik ten Hag’s instructions to him.
