After 19 matches, the two arch-rivals are separated by one point in the DStv Premiership table. Keagan Dolly, who had taunted Pirates before their defeat last year, says he is ready to take them down.

"Things changed, we lost the last derby, but there's no way I'm going to stand here and tell you guys that I'm afraid of them. It's football, I'm not going to be lying to you guys to look good on camera. I'm still not afraid of them as their players shouldn't be as well," via KickOff.
The Glamour Boys have had the upper hand in this fixture in the last few years. In the previous 10 meetings in the league, Chiefs have won seven of them, Pirates have won twice, and the other game ended in a draw, per Soccerway.

Another notable moment was former Pirates and now Sundowns star, Thembinkosi Lorch, bamboozling Sibongiseni 'Ox' Mthethwa on the edge of the box.
