The Mirror reports that the move will see the Blues forced out of Stamford Bridge during the period their home ground will be undergoing redevelopment.

Stamford Bridge was built nearly 120 years ago, in 1905, meaning any form of redevelopment will come with its own complications.

With a capacity of just 40,000, the stadium is lagging behind Chelsea's rivals, the Emirates Stadium and Tottenham's recently constructed stadium.

Where could Chelsea play home games?

According to Metro UK, should Todd Boehly embark on his mission to rebuild a new facility for Chelsea, the club would be forced to seek alternatives where they can play their home matches.

There are already plenty of options the club can consider in west London, including sharing one with their fierce rivals.

Wembley could possibly be one of the most ideal grounds, with the stadium no stranger to hosting Premier League teams.

Tottenham used the 90,000-seater stadium between 2017 and 2019 when their current home ground was being rebuilt.

Rugby stadium Twickenham and Fulham's Craven Cottage could also come in handy.

Craven Cottage would make the most sense, logically, with the stadium just 1.7 miles away.

Finally, on Chelsea's options list is the London Stadium.

The London Stadium is home to West Ham United, one of the other fiercest rivals for the Blues.

Inside Chelsea's summer plans

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Chelsea have shortlisted three players they want to sign in the summer.

The Blues are expected to significantly bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

The Stamford Bridge dwellers have endured a challenging campaign this term, with the side at risk of missing out on European football once again.
