Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali bagged a clean sheet for Chippa United on his second appearance for the club following his return from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

According to the Daily Post, Nwabali’s clean sheet against Richards Bay brings his total to eight in 17 PSL appearances for Chippa United this season.

The Super Eagles goalkeeper is presently two clean sheets behind Mamelodi Sundowns and South Africa’s first-choice goalie Ronwen Williams, who leads the league with 10 clean sheets in just 13 games.

Nwabali and Williams are the two best goalkeepers at the 2023 AFCON, with the Mamelodi goalkeeper edging the Nigerian to win the Golden Gloves at the competition in Ivory Coast after keeping five clean sheets in seven games.

Nwabali brags after clean sheet

Meanwhile, Nwabali has bragged that he always delivers in a social media post after keeping yet another clean sheet on his return to Chippa United in their victory against Richards Bay.

In a commanding performance between the posts, the Super Eagles custodian demonstrated his shot-stopping abilities by making three important saves to deny Richards Bay any scoring opportunities.

Furthermore, Nwabali showed his defensive awareness with nine recoveries and a big role in build-up play, totalling 40 touches throughout the contest as he outlined his importance to the Chippa United team.

Al Ettifaq shows interest in Nwabali

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Saudi Arabia’s Al Ettifaq is keen on signing Nwabali this summer from Chippa United after being impressed with his exploits for the Super Eagles at the 2023 AFCON.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano disclosed that the Saudi club, alongside English Championship side Queens Park Rangers, are the two teams currently interested in signing the Chippa United goalie.

Nwabali is widely expected to seek greener pastures this summer following his impressive performance for Nigeria during the 2023 AFCON.
