In the quest to celebrate and honour outstanding talents, the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) has unveiled the Lagos STARS.
The initiative was announced by Lekan Fatodu, who is the director general of the commission.
This will allow the state to recognize budding talents with the motive of shaping the diverse and vibrant sports ecosystem in the state.
It was gathered that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is championing this course in his bid to advance and promote sporting excellence.

Lagos STARS will encompass the celebration of those who have excelled across diverse sports disciplines.
Stakeholders, including athletes and talents, will be appreciated for their dedication and contributions to the sporting community, The Cable reports.
Meanwhile, the director of LSSC's technical department, Ola Okunnu, lauded the initiative, emphasising that it will also pave the way for the brighter future of sports in the state.
He said:
“It will enchant athletes, inspire sports talents, and propel the state towards achieving even greater sporting success on the national and international stage."
Lagos STARS transcends mere acknowledgment of past and present achievements in sports, it aims to serve as a commemorative, supportive, inclusive, and collaborative platform, providing further opportunities including mentorship, training, and resource allocation to empower athletes and talents to reach their full potential.
