Fans have expressed their pity for N'Golo Kante after they spotted his reaction to receiving the second-ever red card of his career.

The former Chelsea midfielder, who is currently plying his trade in Saudi Arabia, was handed his marching orders while in action for Al-Ittihad in the Asian Champions League.

According to SPORTbible, Kante's Saudi Pro League team were already two goals down against Al-Hilal when the Frenchman was sent off.

He was red-carded in the 66th minute of the match after a rash challenge, with the VAR intervening and suggesting he leave the field altogether.

Kante's reaction to his second career red card

The 32-year-old's reaction to getting the red card was caught on camera, with the World Cup winner spotted looking dejected as he made his way towards the tunnel.

Kante's reaction to his red card sparked outpouring support from fans online, as many commiserated with the ex-Blues ace.

Kante's first red card of his career was during the 2014/15 season when he was playing for French side, SM Caen.

The midfielder was never sent off throughout his Premier League career with Chelsea and Leicester City.

Kante embarrassed by Alex Telles

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Kante being outdone by Alex Telles during a Saudi Pro League match in December.

Both players were in top flight action when Al-Ittihad welcomed Al-Nassr at the Prince Abdullah al-Faisal Stadium.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane each scored twice to power the Knights of Najd to a 5-2 victory over Kante's side.
