Kane stepped up big time when his team needed him the most, scoring twice in the second leg. Bayern entered that contest trailing 1-0 on aggregate after losing at Stadio Olimpico in the first leg.

Kane makes history vs Lazio

Kane eased Bayern fans' concerns with a terrific diving header in the 38th minute to level the scores on aggregate at 1-1.

Apart from changing the complexion of the tie with that goal, he also made history with that strike, as that was his 50th in UEFA competitions.

He added another in the second half to stretch his goal tally in Europe to 51. He is tied with Kylian Mbappe for first place in the Champions League Golden Boot race with six goals.

The other 45 goals he scored in UEFA competitions came during his time with Tottenham Hotspur.

Gerrard and Rooney in 40-goal club

Only two other British players have scored at least 40 goals in UEFA competitions, per Squawka.

Steven Gerrard is ranked second behind Kane in this particular department, scoring 41 goals in Europe during this time with Liverpool.

Wayne Rooney is ranked third, notching a total of 40 goals in UEFA competitions during his playing career with Manchester United.
