Fastest to 300 Premier League goals

1. Pep Guardiola (120 games)

Guardiola turned Manchester City into an offensive juggernaut once he arrived as manager back in 2016. He only needed 120 games for City to score 300 goals in the Premier League, the fastest rate in history.

City scored 80 goals in his first season with the club, leading them to a third-place finish in the Premier League.

He made City a well-oiled machine in the 2017-18 season, leading them to the championship after the club scored a record 106 goals that campaign.

Man City retained the title the following season, scoring 95 goals in the 2018-19 campaign.

Guardiola reached the 300-goal mark with City in the 2019-20 season. He accomplished the feat in their 8-0 win over Watford on Matchday 6.

2. Jurgen Klopp (142 games)

Klopp is second on the list, needing 142 games to reach the 300-goal milestone in the Premier League.

He replaced Brendan Rodgers as manager in October 2015. He led the team to 55 goals in 30 matches, with Liverpool finishing eighth in the table.

The Reds improved the following season, finishing fourth after scoring 78 goals in the 2016-17 campaign.

They finished fourth again in the 2017-18 season, scoring 84 goals in 38 matches.

The Reds improved to second in the 2018-19 season, scoring 89 goals as they finished one point shy of champions Manchester City. Klopp reached the 300-goal mark in the closing stages of that campaign.

3. Manuel Pellegrini (149 games)

Pellegrini took over as Manchester City boss in 2013 and immediately found success in his first year. He led them to the Premier League title in the 2013-14 season, scoring 102 goals that year.

City regressed the following season, finishing second after scoring 83 goals in the 2014-15 campaign.

City finished fourth in the 2015-16 season, scoring a total of 81 goals. He was sacked after that poor finish.

Pellegrini returned to the Premier League in 2018 after he was hired by West Ham. He reached the 300-goal mark in the latter stages of the Hammers' 2018-19 season.

4. Mikel Arteta (161 games)

Arteta needed 161 games to reach the 300-goal milestone with Arsenal. He managed his first Gunners game on December 26, 2019. Arsenal scored 32 goals under Arteta's watch as they finished eighth in the league table.

Arteta led Arsenal to an eighth-place finish in the 2020-21 season, with the Gunners scoring 55 goals.

They improved to fifth in the 2021-22 season, with Arsenal scoring 61 goals in that campaign.

Arsenal came close to winning the title in the 2022-23 season, leading most of the way before collapsing down the stretch. They finished second to City, with the Gunners scoring 88 goals.

Arteta finally reached the 300-goal mark on Matchday 27 of the 2023-24 season, with Arsenal defeating Sheffield United 6-0, per OptaJoe.

Piers Morgan's Arteta admission

Sports Brief recently reported on Piers Morgan making an admission about Arteta.

He admitted to misjudging the Arsenal manager's capabilities after their win over Sheffield United.

The Gunners scored five goals in the first half en route to a 6-0 win on Monday.
