Legendary former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Nelson 'Teenage' Dladla, has expressed disappointment in Amakhosi's recent performances.

The trophy drought continues as Chiefs were dumped out by lowly ranked side Milford FC last weekend.

The Glamour Boys also failed to defeat Maroka Swallows on Saturday in a Premier Soccer League clash as they occupy the sixth position on the log.

Stakeholders and fans are concerned about the situation at the club as Dladla insists that the current squad is far from the real ‘Chiefs’.

Dladla told the Karabo Phasha YouTube podcast, as per The South African:

“Yoh, you know, I don’t know how to put it but it’s saddening, painful. Eight years without a trophy a team like Kaizer Chiefs no ways, no ways, no ways.
“Sometimes, they come to me: ‘ja, ja that Chiefs’ and I say ‘you are beating this Chiefs not my Chiefs’ (who he was playing for in the past), okay?”

Meanwhile, in a bid to bolster the squad, the club's management are monitoring Lehlohonolo Mojela ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old has been in fine form for TS Galaxy, scoring four goals and registering one assist in the opening half of the season.

His form has attracted the Soweto giants, who are ready to swoop on him. A inside source said:

“They inquired about him even at that time after playing against Casric Stars in the Nedbank Cup."

Msimango admits fans' frustrations

Sports Brief earlier reported that Kaizer Chiefs defender, Given Msimango, opened up about the distress he feels seeing the team's supporters upset due to the disappointing performance this season.

Growing up in Brakpan, he was a devoted supporter of the club, and joining them this season was a dream come true.

Despite the dream of playing for his beloved club, the season hasn't gone as hoped.
