"Why did they not renew the contract at least till December next year knowing we have another AFCON to play next year and he has the momentum? The new coach will start building their own team again. This country is not a real place."

"We are a Nation of over-bloated egos. We overachieved at Ivory Coast, but we keep deceiveing ourselves that we deserved the trophy. Loud, boastful and arrogant; All of us. He should still get the job. He has earned it."

"I have to admit I didn’t believe in you at first, but I watched you do your best at AFCON and brought us joy…although we ultimately didn’t win, you tried. Best of luck in your other endeavours"

"Jose Peseiro overachieved at the AFCON, if we're being honest. He should be given a contract renewal. WCQ is around the corner. We don't want to hear a new coach asking to get to know the team o. NFF, what are you guys doing?!"

NFF takes decision on Peseiro

Sports Brief earlier reported that the NFF took a new direction over the contract situation of Peseiro after the AFCON 2023 outing.

The 63-year-old agreed to a pay cut of €50,000 from €70,000 monthly before the tournament, with reports claiming NFF is willing to pay the Portuguese the same amount to continue as Super Eagles coach.
