Al-Nassr fans are gearing up to pay tribute to captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, despite his one-game suspension during their upcoming Saudi Pro League clash with Al Hazem.

The Knights of Najd are set to face Hazm at the KSU Stadium on Thursday, February 29, aiming to extend their winning streak even in the absence of their star player.

Ronaldo handed 1-game ban

Ronaldo's absence comes after he was handed a one-game ban coupled with a fine by the Saudi Football Federation's Disciplinary Committee for making a crude gesture towards Al Shabab fans during matchday 21.

The gesture was reportedly in response to taunts invoking Lionel Messi.

Explaining the rationale behind his ban, Saudi media personality Ali Alabdallah clarified that the veteran forward's suspension was due to provoking the fans rather than insulting them, as initially reported.

Al-Nassr fans to show Ronaldo love

Despite the absence of the record goal scorer for Real Madrid in their game against the bottom-placed club, Al-Nassr supporters are planning to express their affection for the superstar.

According to The Nassr Zone, fans at the stadium will display banners and chant Ronaldo's name in the 7th minute as a token of their admiration.

How Al-Nassr will cope without Ronaldo

In Ronaldo's stead, the likes of Anderson Talisca, Sadio Mane, Otavio, and Abdulrahman Ghareeb are expected to step up for Al-Nassr as they strive to maintain their slim hopes of clinching the league title with a victory against the bottom-placed club.

Interestingly, all the aforementioned players, bar Talisca, found the back of the net alongside CR7 during the first round of games against the same opposition in a 5-1 mauling in Buraidah.

Ronaldo speaks about crude gesture

In a related publication, Sports Brief reported that Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken out regarding his contentious gesture during a recent match, which has landed him a one-game suspension.

After his team secured victory with a last-minute goal, the Portuguese star celebrated vigorously. His actions, which included a crude gesture seemingly aimed at rival fans, have drawn criticism.

In response to reports of a potential ban, the 39-year-old has released a statement addressing his actions.
