Chelsea Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino has written a moving letter to Chelsea fans ahead of their showdown against Liverpool on Sunday evening.

The Blues will make the short trip to Wembley Stadium to play Jurgen Klopp's side in the Carabao Cup final, with both sides looking to win the first silverware of this season.

Chelsea saw off Middlesborough, while Liverpool beat Fulham to set up a repeat of the 2022 final that the latter triumphed on post-match penalties.

Pochettino has reflected on the opportunity his side has to create a long-lasting memory.

"Today at Wembley, we can create something special. A memory that lives with us all. A moment that endures," he wrote on Chelsea's website.

Pochettino: It hasn't been easy

The Argentine manager admitted that it hadn't been the best of seasons. The West Londoners have hardly improved from their 12th-place finish last season. Despite spending money on new players, the club is currently 10th with 35th points after 25 games.

"We all believe in our players and the way we work. This season has not always been easy; that is the reality. But the trust between us as a team has remained strong. That has helped us reach Wembley and will help us in this final. Now, we must do what Chelsea do. Win."

The former Paris Saint-Germain manager also spoke candidly of how great of a threat Liverpool pose but reckons that his boys will be up for the task.

"Liverpool will not make it easy. They can bring a storm on the pitch; when it arrives, we must be ready to give our best to achieve what we all want. We will remind the players that you must be ready to fight when the heart beats a little faster."

How Chelsea can beat Liverpool

Sports Brief has previously explained what Chelsea needs to do to beat Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.

The huge gulf between the two teams on the Premier League table means that the Reds will be the overwhelming favourites to win at Wembley.

Pochettino's expensive midfield duo of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo will need to be on top of their game if they are to get something out of Liverpool.
