Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez arrived for their first Inter Miami game of the 2024 Major League Soccer season and already showed why they are good friends.

Messi, who moved to Miami in July last year, will begin his first full MLS season, having arrived in the middle of last year and was unable to help the club reach the playoffs.

Suarez joined his former Barcelona teammates, Messi, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, after leaving Brazilian club Gremio despite having a year left on his contract.

Per AlbicelesteTalk, it was the pair’s first game together in 921 days since the former Liverpool forward left Barcelona to join rivals Atletico Madrid in 2020.

The two made it to the starting 11, with the World Cup winner shaking off a recent hamstring trouble and is ready for 90 minutes, as confirmed by Gerardo Martino.

As seen in a video shared on social media by MLS, Suarez helped Messi fill his mate tea flask with more water as they arrived at the Chase Stadium from the fans.

It was the Uruguayan’s first official game in front of the Herons’ fans, and he received a special welcome with his family from owners Jorge Mas and David Beckham.

The former Paris Saint-Germain drew the attention of American celebrities last year, and in the first game of 2024, Hollywood actor Will Smith is in attendance.
