FootballMan United’s Season in Danger of Collapse as Key Defender Set to Miss Remainder of The Season
- Manchester United fear Luke Shaw could miss the remainder of the season
- The England international was withdrawn at half time against Luton
- He has reportedly suffered a leg injury that could see him out for months
Look away, Manchester United fans.
The Red Devils are reportedly concerned about their left-back Luke Shaw, who could miss the remainder of the season through injury.
United boss Erik ten Hag took a major risk by starting Shaw against Luton Town, just days after he was brought off at halftime during their side’s dramatic win over Aston Villa a week earlier.
The 28-year-old only lasted 45 minutes as he was replaced at halftime for the second game amid injury concerns and replaced by Victor Lindelof.

It was later rumoured that Shaw was ‘limping heavily’ after the game as he left the stadium, with Ten Hag initially playing down concerns in his post-match interview.
“I can’t tell. We have to wait minimum until tomorrow to see what’s going on. When you come off, it doesn’t look great,” the gaffer said on Sunday.
Shaw’s could be out for months
Latest reports from GOAL.com now suggest Manchester United’s left-back could be out for longer than initially anticipated.
He apparently suffered a recurrence of a leg injury during the game against Luton and could be out for at least three months, according to Daily Mail.backup
Shaw missed the first three months of the campaign as he was recovering from a separate issue on his thigh.
If the reports are accurate, Shaw’s absence could prove to be the turning point for Manchester United’s season, as the club will be without a recognized left-back for the remainder of the campaign.

FootballShaw’s backup, Tyrell Malacia, is also still recovering following knee surgery, while Sergio Reguilon’s loan spell was cut short in January.
Alvaro Fernandez is the other plausible option at left-back, but he was recalled from Granada to complete another loan move to Benfica.
United are sixth on the log with 44 points after 25 games, five off Aston Villa who occupy the final Champions League position.
Their best chance at silverware is in the FA Cup, where they take on Nottingham Forest in the fifth round on Wednesday, February 28.
Where United would be without VAR
Sports Brief also reported on how the Premier League table would look without the intervention of VAR.
Manchester United would have one more point, while Newcastle United would be three points better off.
Liverpool and Manchester City would be tied at the top on 56 points.
