According to Goal, Rio sensationally claimed that Saka is not a world-class player yet, adding that Manchester City hotshot Phil Foden is actually a better player.

"I think you've got to be looking at him [Foden] like that [world-class]," he said.
"I don't think [Saka] has done it at the top level, winning trophies at a team like this. He's not [in as good a team as City's]. You've got to respect and appreciate that Foden's done this, where the medals are handed out, he's performed," he added.

Rio booed by Arsenal fans

Despite doubling down on his criticism of Saka later on his podcast Vibe with Five, a number of Arsenal fans are still seemingly furious at the former England international.

The ex-defender came face to face with some of them on a flight to Porto, with a video shared on social media showing the supporters booing Rio.

The RyanAir staff went on to give Rio an opportunity to respond to the fans through their PA system, with the former United ace pointing out via Sportskeeda:

"Guys, I just want to say it's been an absolute pleasure traveling with you all. But, I must say, Saka is a fantastic player, just not world class yet. He will be one day, just not yet."

Saka has been in fantastic shape for the Gunners this season, having already scored 15 goals and bagged 13 assists in 32 games across competitions.

Why Bukayo Saka is not world-class

Sports Brief also reported on why Rio Ferdinand believes Saka is yet to become a world-class player.

According to the former Manchester United star, Saka has not proven himself in the Champions League.
