Bayern Munich Said to be Monitoring Ex Man United Manager as Potential Replacement for Tuchel

Bayern Munich are keeping tabs on ex-Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, as a potential successor to Thomas Tuchel.

The pressure on the German coach is mounting after three consecutive losses against Bayer Leverkusen, SS Lazio, and VfL Bochum.

The latest reports have suggested the Bavarians could consider the Norwegian-born tactician as a possible short-term replacement.

Following Bayern's disappointing 3-0 loss to Bundesliga leaders, Leverkusen, Tuchel's squad suffered a defeat against Lazio in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.

To cap off their dismal week, the reigning German champions were defeated 3-2 by mid-table side, Bochum.

Bayern to hire Solskjaer?

Reports emanating from Germany indicate that Tuchel's job remains safe at the moment, but his team will need to start producing decent results if he is to maintain his place at the Allianz Arena.

According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, however, the German champions could turn their attention to Solskjaer if things continue to go south for Bayern Munich.

His post on X (formerly Twitter) has indicated that the former Man United manager is being seen as a 'potential interim solution' for the Bavarians.

Solskjaer has remained without employment since his departure from the Old Trafford dwellers in 2021.

Meanwhile, Tuchel was appointed Bayern boss in March 2023, replacing Julian Nagelsmann, who had been unceremoniously sacked at the time.

According to The Guardian, Tuchel agreed on a contract until the summer of 2025.
