What a month it has been for Simon Adingra.

The Ivory Coast star is not only an Africa Cup of Nations winner but also continued that impressive form on his return to the English Premier League.

Adingra, who was named AFCON's Best Young Player during the tournament, returned to action for Brighton & Hove Albion and scored a brace for the side.

The Ivory Coast international scored in the 78th minute and 85th as Brighton ran riot against Sheffield United. The Seagulls beat a 10-man Sheffield 5-0 to climb to seventh on the English Premier League table.

Adingra shines at AFCON

His brace comes on the back of an impressive showing at the Africa Cup of Nations in the Ivory Coast. Adingra scored one goal in five games and grabbed two assists during the tournament. His assists came in the final, as the Elephants beat Nigeria to claim the trophy.

His only goal came in the 90th minute of the quarter-final against Mali, as he kept his side in the tournament with the equaliser. The Elephants would go on to score the winner in the 120th minute to progress to the tournament's semi-final.

Adingra welcomed back to Brighton in style

Following his success in the Ivory Coast, Adingra was given a welcome back befitting a champion when he returned to England.

Brighton gave him a guard of honour as he walked onto the pitch with his award from the tournament.

The Ivory Coast winger spoke about how his side were almost eliminated from AFCON but rallied back to win it.
