PSG tightlipped over Mbappe switch to Real Madrid
FootballMadrid Universal reports that one way the Spanish side aims to tempt the French captain is with image rights.
Los Blancos are ready to offer him 50% of his image rights, a condition players usually don’t get at the Spanish club.
Mbappe gets €72 million and 100% image rights at the French side, and while Madrid can’t match that, they are willing to make him the highest-paid player at the club. There are also talks that he would receive a €120 million signing bonus.
Mbappe loves the number seven jersey but won’t get to wear it at Madrid because it belongs to Vinicius Junior. Instead, the Spanish club are willing to give him the iconic number 10 jersey, GOAL noted.
The number currently belongs to Luka Modric, but the veteran midfielder is set to depart the side at the end of the season.
Victor Osimhen: PSG To Launch Bid for Napoli Star if They Lose Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid
FootballStars like James Rodríguez, Mesut Özil and Robinho have all donned the famous jersey before, as per Transfermarkt.
While PSG have never won the UEFA Champions League, Madrid have no problem in that department. The Spanish side are no strangers to lifting the cup and will give Mbappe a chance to truly shine in Europe.
Former Madrid forward Jorge Valdano said it best when he exclaimed, 'Madrid doesn’t pay with money; they pay with glory.’
While Madrid are favourites to secure Mbappe's signature in the summer, the same can't be said for their La Liga rivals.
Barcelona have been reported to be considering making a move for the French star once he becomes a free agent.
Sports Brief noted how fans reacted to the news on social media, making fun of Barcelona and their financial issues.
